It's been said that "Orange is the New Black" which of course makes for the perfect pallet when this day rolls around each year! Some pops of orange and black to add some sugar to your day!

Confession: the amount of candy I have eaten in the last 24 hours is cause for serious concern... but it's part of being "festive", right?

This bedroom is the perfect canvas not only to add a splash of orange, but to add just about any color the heart desires!

Not exactly inline with the black, white and orange for Halloween but liked this orange chair so much I just had to share!

White Filled Wednesday ... Time's A-Tickin'!

Yikes, put on your whites!!

As traditional Southern protocol has it, white is not to be worn after Labor Day which means you have 5 more days to don your crisp whites before retiring them for the summer! Sad to think that is the case but luckily this bit of "Southern protocol" has seemed to slip over the years and your grandmother may not forgive you for wearing your whites after this holiday.  With that said though, be careful with the fabric... might be time to retire your white linen for the summer - or maybe not!

In doing a bit of intel, it seems as though noone really knows where the tradition began but I did learn that Labor Day marks when the Navy switches from their white uniforms to their navy blue uniforms. Maybe I've been living under a rock but I didn't realize that so there's your tidbit for the day in case you didn't know either.

Wednesday's "What If?"...

... We could spend the day (or the rest of the week or month for that matter!) in one of these fabulous beach bungalows?!?!

Perfect for mid-week daydreaming...

Folly Beach was part of many of my fondest college memories, as it is just minutes outside of Charleston, SC, so when I saw this beachfront home in Folly I just had to share. This house leaves me longing for my college days spent on Folly and dreaming of having this bungalow as my own (and possibly trying to relive those college days?!)

House of Turquoise revisited one of my favorite beach bungalows recently and while it may have been Southern Living's 2009 Idea House it still leaves me dreaming! 

(Albeit, which of their featured homes doesn't leave us dreaming?!)
