Wicked Wednesday

Hope all of you are getting in the Halloween spirit... admittedly, Halloween is not my favorite but at the same time, who doesn't love a reason to decorate and have a party?! After Halloween comes my favorite, Thanksgiving... hard to believe they're right around the corner!

I was in New Orleans this past weekend and my, do they go all out!! Gracious!! Everything they do in that city is to the nth degree - just love all the excitement! Coming home to an nondecorated stoop has me feeling like a Halloween Grinch!

In case you too are looking to add a little wicked to your front stoop for all the trick-or-treaters who will come a knockin' tomorrow, here you go (and of course, there's always next year... never too early to start planning!)

By the way, take the wicked out of most of these and you have the perfect Thanksgiving front door decor for your family coming over for turkey in 4 weeks!

Hanging bats made simple with Martha's DIY project

Another idea with Martha's bats - hung across your door!
(make sure to hang with non-sticky tack so you can pull them right off on November 1st!)

Love the mix of stick and real pumpkins

Corn stalks and barrels of hay with some pumpkins and mums and voila!

(of course, it doesn't hurt to also have a festive orange door!)

Peppermint Ice Cream Bliss!

In all the hustle and bustle of the season, I lost track of time yesterday and didn't have a chance to share with you some festive frozen treats on none other than National Ice Cream Day! I figure it's never too late for ice cream though so here you go, just one day late!

How cute are these -- prep the peppermint ice cream cups ahead of time and then set up a sauce bar for your guests!

Tag-gy Tuesday!

Undoubtedly, I am a lover of all things paper so it comes as no surprise that I am always looking at gift tags for cool new ideas!
A few of the favorites I have seen so far this holiday season!

Here's to Tag-gy Tuesday...
Not to be confused with tacky, which accurately and admirably describes the tour our limo ride took us on this past weekend in Richmond. Let me tell you -- those houses fabulously decked to the nines!

Merry, Merry Magnolia!

Friends, I'm back and promise to make up for all the lost time!!

Magnolia leaves are as simple and yet elegant and pretty as they come and boy are they the perfect addition to all of your holiday decor! Be on the lookout for a magnolia tree in your neighborhood to borrow a few leaves from and spruce up your mantle, garland, tablescape, or wreath!

Merry, Merry Magnolia!

So simple -- Magnolia leaves with tea lights. Subtle twinkling glow.

Magnolia garland adorning the staircase -- about as traditional and festive as it gets.
Simply adore!

Magnolia can easily be added to any wreath

Tuesday's Patriotic Table!

I just love 4th of July!
Its' falling on a Wednesday is posing a bit of a hiccup in the water-side plans I so desperately would love right now, I will still be celebrating in proper fashion from the nations capital!

What do you have planned for tomorrow?
And more importantly, what's going to be on your patriotic table?
In case you need a few last minute ideas, here are a few ways to ensure you have plenty of red, white and blue on your table to celebrate!

Love the mixed-matched dinnerware -- all in red white and blue of course!

Patriotic party pale with all you need!

Sucré's King Cake
When I was in New Orleans two weeks ago my friend (a New Orleans local) introduced me to
Sucré's King Cake and I have to say... it was divine!
