Tuesday's Treasure ~ Ginger Jars

It's been a while since we've gone on a TT&B treasure hunt but I have been hunting and want to bring you up to speed! 

Ginger jars.

Love them.

So many things you can do with them; they go everywhere! While I don't have any surfaces to put them at the moment (another post to come on that, I need some bookshelves!) but that doesn't mean I can't start collecting!

So, here we go. Ginger jars. 

Ginger jars have a long line of history amongst Chinese culture. According to most resources, "A Ginger Jar is shaped with a wide mouth, a domed lid and a bulging, bulbous spherical hand painted body. They come in various styles and sizes and in many different colors. The true Chinese antique Ginger Jar is made of porcelain and hand painted. The jars acquired the name “Ginger Jars” because they often contained ginger (which was one of the most valuable spices at the time) when they were exported to the West."

It's been said that "Orange is the New Black" which of course makes for the perfect pallet when this day rolls around each year! Some pops of orange and black to add some sugar to your day!

Confession: the amount of candy I have eaten in the last 24 hours is cause for serious concern... but it's part of being "festive", right?

This bedroom is the perfect canvas not only to add a splash of orange, but to add just about any color the heart desires!

Not exactly inline with the black, white and orange for Halloween but liked this orange chair so much I just had to share!

Does this room go too far? Bold black walls with all orange accents. Would you dare or is this too spooky?

Tulips on a Tuesday... and on a Coffee Table

Pretty pink tulips will surely brighten your Tuesday... 

and put them on a chichi coffee table adorned with design's greatest books and I'd call them the cherry on the top!

This coffee table, complete with pink tulips, is simply put, divine. 

Bliss is Back!

Turquoise, Tulips and Bliss has been on a bit of a hiatus due solely to its "authors", i.e. me and i'm so sorry! Not making excuses but I will say that work took over my life from March to June and after a wildly successful conference mid-June, I am now beginning to feel human again! 

All of that behind us, we are back up and I am committing to returning to my favorite pastime, collecting and compiling my favorite things and sharing them with anyone and everyone! 

So, as a bit of a fresh start, I am going right back to the root of what never fails to make me smile:

... and Bliss!!

Please forgive my absence and I hope you will join me back here now on a much more regular basis!

I would classify this as Turquoise and Bliss! How perfect would this be for a beach home?

Lavender and Orange - an unlikely match if you had asked me but what an awesome bouquet this makes!

If only we could have magazine ready dining rooms -  with fresh tulip arrangements -- at all times! 

Who said sweet, danty tulips can't still be bold? This multi-color arrangement makes the colorful accents of the room pop all the more!

It's Friday, I'm in Love... with Quadrille!

... well really all Quadrille but right now I'm really loving the Quadrille China Seas Bali II. The name sounds about as cool and ornate as the fabric looks! While it's "old" (2009) by design standards, it's still catching my eye!

I am going to go ahead and say that this will not be the last post of favorite Quadrille prints you're going to see from me... stay tuned!!
