Tuesday's Treasure ~ Ginger Jars

It's been a while since we've gone on a TT&B treasure hunt but I have been hunting and want to bring you up to speed!
Ginger jars.
Love them.
So many things you can do with them; they go everywhere! While I don't have any surfaces to put them at the moment (another post to come on that, I need some bookshelves!) but that doesn't mean I can't start collecting!

So, here we go. Ginger jars.
Ginger jars have a long line of history amongst Chinese culture. According to most resources, "A Ginger Jar is shaped with a wide mouth, a domed lid and a bulging, bulbous spherical hand painted body. They come in various styles and sizes and in many different colors. The true Chinese antique Ginger Jar is made of porcelain and hand painted. The jars acquired the name “Ginger Jars” because they often contained ginger (which was one of the most valuable spices at the time) when they were exported to the West."

So my lovelies, Ginger Jar treasures to fill your home on this fine Tuesday!

Merry, Merry Magnolia!

Friends, I'm back and promise to make up for all the lost time!!

Magnolia leaves are as simple and yet elegant and pretty as they come and boy are they the perfect addition to all of your holiday decor! Be on the lookout for a magnolia tree in your neighborhood to borrow a few leaves from and spruce up your mantle, garland, tablescape, or wreath!

So simple -- Magnolia leaves with tea lights. Subtle twinkling glow.

Mantel Monday

Is your mantel looking a little empty now that the holiday decor has been taken down?
Here is a little mantel-pick-me-up inspiration to help you decorate that natural focal of your room!

Why not throw a peacock on your mantel?

A Peachy Thursday!

I am embarrassed to say that I missed yesterday's big holiday - National Watermelon Day! Who doesn't love watermelon on a hot summer day?
(I have shared some watermelon favorites
with you in the past though!)

So, in an effort to pay tribute to another one of my favorite fruits I share with you some of my favorite Peach Inspiration!
After all, August is the National Peach Month!

TV Tuesday!

I have been "shopping" (i.e. going to the store saying "I'm really going to buy one today", looking around for an hour plus, getting confused, and leaving) for a TV since May and I FINALLY bit the bullet this weekend and bought one!
While the TV is for my bedroom for now, I wanted to buy one big enough to be a living room TV one day if need be. That being said, the TV is a tad large (excessively so....) for my bedroom but I'm going to try to make it work. I have moved it around to almost every furniture top in the room.  I have settled on a spot for now but I'm in the market for a new piece of furniture to put it on that is just the right height.

That is more information than you bargained for, I know, but because I have TVs on my mind, I thought I would share some others' ideas for decorating around a TV.

One "Decorating Around a TV" tidbit I need to admit -  I have never been a huge fan of the TV above the mantle... however, the ones pictured below are very tastefully done and could potentially change my mind.
What are your thoughts on the TV above the mantle?
