Clean Slate

New Year, fresh slate.
Speaking of slate - I love it,
both the color (grey and blue) and the rock!

Enjoy some crisp, clean slate inspiration to get you thinking about what you're going to do with your fresh slate in 2014!

Slate carriage way adorn with lanterns -
would love to see more of this fabulous New Orleans house!

Slate floors can be cold but the high beams, cozy furnishings, and lush looking rug make this room so warm an inviting!

Tuesday's Tangerine Tango {With a Splash of Cabaret, Cockatoo, and Driftwood}

I refuse to admit we are making our way toward colder days. I am thinking I am going to bypass fall and winter and move on to thinking about Spring 2012! Thoughts?

Pantone's recently revealed Spring 2012 Fashion Color Trends are making it VERY easy to dream about those spring days that are "just" ahead of us...working on the power of positive thinking here!

So here we are, your Spring 2012 palette:
Tangerine Tango, Cabaret, Cockatoo (a new take on turquoise!), and Driftwood - just a few of my favorites!
I say, out with Fall and Winter 2011 and in with Spring 2012!

Tangerine Tango:
A provocative and enticing juicy orange, is a vivacious and appealing refresher to enliven anyone’s outlook this spring.

Cabaret:
A sensual, intense rosy red is scintillating and sexy. Expect lots of it for summer clothing and cosmetics.

Cockatoo:
An unusual blue-green hue adds a whimsical and statement-making touch to the palette.
Lots of blues, including Cockatoo

Driftwood:
An adaptable blend of beige and gray with a slightly weathered feel.

Grey Monday!

Grey Monday mornings like the foggy one we had here today in the Nations' Capital can be tough. Fortunately the thought of the short work week ahead made the grey so much more tolderable.
While grey whether can the the pits, the color grey inside of the home is quite the opposite!

When I saw this collection of grey I immediately felt at home in these rooms - they are so warm and inviting.
Hope this brings you a little bit of warmth, too!

Happy Monday!
