Happy Brass Monkey Monday!

Who knew "Brass Monkey" meant so many things:
~ a drink made from mixing malt liquor with orange juice (no thank you!)
~a metal stand that formerly held cannon balls on ships
~a colloquial British expression for it being cold
~ a song by the Beastie Boys
......and the list goes on!

 For me, I love Monkeys and brass is making a major comeback so I just get a kick out of the term Brass Monkey!

Ah-choo! Tissue Box Thursday

Well friends, I've been trying to ignore it but there's no denying it now - I have a full fledged winter head cold. We all have to suffer through at least one each season so hopefully I am paying my dues for the season.

This cold and the immense number of tissues I have gone through in the last 36 hours has tissue boxes on my mind right now so thought I'd share a few decorative ones with you.

I'm more of a plain, metal or mirrored tissue box cover kind of girl in my bathroom, but there are definitely some cute colorful ones to choose from, too.  

I could use one of the colorful ones on my desk right now to liven up my workspace and put a little cheer into blowing my nose!

Tranquil Tuesday

I am so sorry for being m.i.a. the past few days, my friends!

My life has been too chaotic the past week and I have missed sharing some of my favorite things with you.

I don't know about you but I am in need of some tranquility - preferably on a beach warm in the sunshine! Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be finding that tranquility anytime soon (so sad!) but these rooms sure do seem warm and inviting so they will have to do for now!
